1. Does my child need speech early intervention?

Let's first talk about milestones!

By 12 months:
Does your child respond to his/her name?
Can your child understand common nouns (e.g., cup, apple, car, ball, daddy)?
Does your child say at least 1-2 words? (e.g., mama, hello, ball)
Does your child to use non-verbal communication such as using gestures (e.g., waving hi/bye) or pointing?
Does your child start imitating some sounds?

By 18 months:
Can your child follow 1-step directions (e.g., give me the car please).
Can your child point to the common nouns (e.g., dog, cat, ball, spoon, car) in the pictures when asked?
Does your child shake head for "no"?
Does your child imitate new words and environmental sounds (e.g., animal sounds, car sounds) spontaneously?
Does your child use 15-20 words functionally and talk rather than gestures?

By 24 months:
Does your child use 50 words functionally and/or spontaneously?
Does your child use 2-word phrases?
Does your child ask simple questions such as "what's that?"

By 30 months:
Does your child use 2-3 word sentences/phrase?
Does your child answer simple yes/no questions?

By 36 months:
Does your child use at least 3-4 word utterances to communicate?
Does your child answer simple what and where questions?
Can you understand your child at least 75% of the words he/she says?

你的寶寶能用搖頭來表示不要嗎？
你的寶寶能自主模仿一些環境音嗎？（例如：動物叫聲，車子引擎聲）
你的寶寶能自主使用15-20個單詞嗎？且寧願又說的大於用比畫的。

24個月：
你的寶寶能自主說50個單詞嗎？
你的寶寶開始組合雙詞彙了嗎？
你的寶寶會發期的發問「這是什麼？」嗎？

30個月：
你的寶寶能使用2-3詞彙短劇嗎？
你的寶寶能回答簡易的是非題嗎？

36個月：
你的寶寶會經常使用至少3-4詞語組成的句子嗎？
你的寶寶能回答簡單的「什麼」、「在哪裏、的問題嗎？
你能聽懂你寶寶說話的75％嗎？
